1GW! Ghana’s Largest-Scale Solar Project Launched

Solar for Industries (SFI) has commenced construction on the first phase of the Norbert Anku Solar Project in Ghana. The project’s operational capacity is expected to reach 1GW by 2032.

SFI, a subsidiary of the Ghanaian construction company LMI Holdings Group, will develop the project in phases. The initial 100MW phase is scheduled to become operational in December 2026, followed by the next 100MW phase starting in September 2027.

Named after Norbert Anku, the first Managing Director of LMI Holdings Group, the project will be built in the Dawa Industrial Zone within the Greater Accra Region, an area home to numerous Ghanaian light and heavy industrial enterprises.
