6GW with $912.5 Million Investment! India Adds New PV Cell and Module Factory

As part of the Jakson Group, Jakson Engineers Limited is investing over 80 billion Indian rupees (approximately $912.5 million) to establish a 6GW integrated solar module, cell, and wafer manufacturing facility at its existing site in Madhya Pradesh.

According to the company, the 110-acre project represents the largest solar manufacturing investment in the state. Jakson Engineers Limited will allocate around 20 billion rupees to launch the first phase of the project, which includes setting up an annual production capacity of 3GW solar modules and 3GW solar cells.

The second phase, with an investment exceeding 60 billion rupees, will add a 6GW solar wafer plant while expanding module and cell production capacity by 3GW each. The first modules are expected to be produced in May 2026, followed by cells in September 2026, supporting India’s vision of an “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (Self-Reliant India) for greater self-sufficiency in industrial manufacturing.
