Hithium’s Wang Pengcheng Meets with British Ambassador to China Peter Wilson in Xiamen

On September 8, 2025, the 25th China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) was held in Xiamen, with the United Kingdom participating as the Guest Country of Honor. During the event, Wang Pengcheng, Co-founder and President of Hithium, was invited to meet with British Ambassador to China Peter Wilson. The two sides and their teams exchanged views on the UK’s energy storage market and prospects for collaboration.

As the highest diplomatic representative of the British government in China, Peter Wilson officially assumed the role of British Ambassador to China in August 2025. Having served twice at the British Embassy in China, he possesses a deep understanding of the country.

The discussion centered on the development of the UK’s energy storage industry and trends in its clean energy transition. Wang Pengcheng shared details of Hithium’s significant collaboration with the UK’s leading developer, Elements Green. The two parties will jointly deploy a large-scale standalone energy storage system project in England with a capacity of 720 MWh. As one of the largest energy storage projects in the UK to date, it is scheduled to be completed and operational by 2027. The project will play a critical role in reducing renewable energy curtailment, enhancing grid flexibility and security, and decreasing reliance on fossil fuels in the UK.
