Recently, Indian PV manufacturer Emmvee Photovoltaic Power announced that its subsidiary, Emmvee Energy, has officially commenced operations at its 2.5GW PV module factory located in Sulibele Hoskote Taluk, near Bengaluru, Karnataka. This has increased the company’s total module production capacity to 10.3GW, aligning with the expansion plan outlined in its IPO prospectus.
It is understood that the launch of the new factory is a key part of Emmvee’s overall capacity expansion strategy, which was detailed in its IPO prospectus. The company also revealed that a second 2.5GW solar module production line is scheduled to become operational in FY2026, further expanding its module production capacity.
In terms of long-term plans, Emmvee has commenced construction of a 6GW integrated solar cell and module facility in Bengaluru’s ITIR Phase II. Upon completion, the project will enable the company to achieve vertical integration from cells to modules, enhancing cost control, supply chain stability, and overall competitiveness.
Public information shows that Emmvee is a leading domestic PV manufacturer in India, operating multiple production bases in Karnataka prior to this expansion, with a previous module capacity of 7.8GW. As the Indian government advances its target of achieving 500GW of renewable energy installed capacity, the demand for domestic PV capacity expansion continues to grow. Emmvee’s series of expansion initiatives are expected to further solidify its market position.
