JA Solar and Nigerian SMEDAN Discuss Collaboration to Jointly Promote Green Sustainable Development for SMEs

Recently, Mr. Charles Odii, Director General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), led a delegation on a visit to JA Solar’s Beijing headquarters. The two sides held in-depth discussions on the development of Nigeria’s photovoltaic market, capacity building for small and medium enterprises, and the clean energy transition, laying a solid foundation for further cooperation in the PV sector.

As a key agency under Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, SMEDAN has long been committed to providing micro, small, and medium enterprises with support in knowledge, funding, tools, and market access. During the visit, Director General Odii and his delegation toured JA Solar’s exhibition hall, where they gained detailed insights into JA Solar’s development history, technological R&D capabilities, global business footprint, and high-efficiency PV product portfolio.

During the discussions, Odii emphasized that Nigeria is at a critical stage of economic transformation, with electricity shortages being one of the major constraints on SME growth. He noted that the Nigerian government’s “Green Vision” initiative has set clear targets for renewable energy development. SMEDAN will actively assist Nigerian SMEs in seizing the opportunities presented by the growth of renewable energy. JA Solar’s extensive global experience and leading technical expertise provide strong support for potential collaboration between the two parties.
