JA Solar Contributes to the Successful Operation of “HyFlow”, the World’s Largest Green Hydrogen-Ammonia-Methanol Integrated Project by China Energy Engineering Group

On December 16, the Phase I commissioning and Phase II launch ceremony of the “HyFlow” project—the world’s largest green hydrogen-ammonia-methanol integrated project, part of the China Energy Engineering Group Songyuan Hydrogen Energy Industrial Park—was held in Songyuan, Jilin. The project has set four world records: largest scale, largest hydrogen storage capacity, widest load-flexible process, and largest alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment. It has overcome the world-class challenge of dynamic coupling between fluctuating renewable energy and stable chemical production, providing strong momentum for China’s hydrogen energy industry as it transitions from demonstration to large-scale commercial application.

As the exclusive photovoltaic module supplier for the “HyFlow” project, JA Solar has infused this milestone project with green energy through its high-efficiency and reliable photovoltaic solutions, jointly opening a new chapter in the global energy transition.

The “HyFlow” project innovatively adopts an integrated “wind-solar-hydrogen-ammonia-methanol” model, building a complete industrial chain from hydrogen production to chemical applications. Phase I of the project includes 800,000 kW of new energy power generation facilities, supporting an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons of green synthetic ammonia and methanol. It can produce 45,000 tons of green hydrogen annually, equivalent to saving 600,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon emissions by 740,000 tons per year. The core photovoltaic power supply for this massive energy system fully utilizes JA Solar’s high-efficiency DeepBlue 4.0 series photovoltaic modules. Through 100% green power direct supply technology, clean electricity generated from solar energy is precisely delivered to the chemical park, providing stable energy for electrolytic hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol production. Throughout the project’s construction, JA Solar’s exemplary performance deeply impressed its clients and received unanimous praise from the project construction team.
