JA Solar Showcases Innovations at SNEC 18th PV & Smart Energy Expo

On June 11, JA Solar debuted at the “18th SNEC International Photovoltaic Power Generation and Smart Energy Conference & Exhibition,” showcasing PV exhibits under three themes: Full-Scenario, Cutting-Edge, and New Materials. Specialized modules for extreme environments and distributed markets, such as deserts, oceans, hail-resistant, and rooftop applications, gathered together. The DeepBlue 5.0 module took the lead, with multiple cutting-edge cell and module technology routes on display.

JA Solar’s “Desert Blue” desert PV products are designed for regions with low precipitation, heavy sandstorms, strong winds, significant temperature differences, and hot climates. Utilizing high-weather-resistant encapsulation materials, they can withstand challenges in arid regions like deserts, gobi, and wastelands, featuring excellent self-cleaning capabilities to reduce cleaning frequency and cut costs.

JA Solar’s “Ocean Blue” marine PV products are tailored for tidal flats, high-salt-fog areas, and offshore regions. They have successfully passed the most stringent 8-level salt spray test and comprehensive salt spray aging test, with power attenuation of only about 1%, as well as wind tunnel tests up to 60m/s, ensuring long-term stable operation in windy and wavy environments.

JA Solar’s hail-resistant/high-load products mainly serve hail-prone regions globally, including the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in China, Europe, the Americas, and South Africa. Taking the 2382mm*1134mm (66D45) version as an example, the hail-resistant product not only boasts industry-leading power levels but has also passed hail tests up to 55mm. Additionally, lightweight and high-end residential products exhibited by JA Solar also possess excellent hail resistance.

In the cutting-edge PV product exhibition area, the DeepBlue 5.0 module was showcased with anti-soiling frames and 0BB technology, attracting high popularity. The main version is the industry-standard 2382mm*1134mm, with a maximum power of 670W and efficiency up to 24.8%, significantly enhancing ROI.

JA Solar regards energy storage as a core pillar for building a low-carbon future. Following the launch of the BlueGalaxy 5MWh large-scale energy storage system, BluePlanet industrial and commercial energy storage system, and BlueStar residential energy storage system, JA Solar unveiled a new generation of intelligent energy storage systems and sodium-ion battery energy storage solutions at the exhibition, marking a new level of technological leadership in the energy storage field.

The new generation intelligent energy storage system, named “BlueGalaxy 4.0,” is based on 500Ah+ large-capacity energy storage cells, achieving a 7.8MWh (compatible with 6.25MWh) capacity configuration in a 20-foot container, a 38.84% increase in volumetric energy density compared to the previous generation. Meanwhile, BlueGalaxy 4.0 adopts AI battery management and AI thermal bionic technologies, increasing the throughput电量 (throughput electricity) over its lifecycle by 48% compared to the previous generation, with a cycle life exceeding 12,000 times.

More importantly, JA Solar innovatively integrated the DeepSeek model into the BlueGalaxy 4.0 energy storage system and deployed it locally. Through extensive data training on BMS and EMS, it achieved higher-level precise control, abnormal warnings, problem analysis, and state assessment functions. Additionally, the BlueGalaxy 4.0 intelligent energy storage system can predict power plant load and electricity market trends, generating dynamic dispatching strategies through algorithm models to optimize energy storage participation in peak-valley arbitrage, ancillary services, electricity spot trading, and renewable energy consumption, thereby improving power plant revenue and ushering in a new era of large-capacity energy storage economics.

JA Solar’s sodium-ion battery energy storage solutions mainly target industrial and commercial sectors, as well as severely cold regions like Northeast China and Northern Europe. Sodium-ion batteries offer advantages such as strong power discharge capability, excellent high- and low-temperature performance, abundant reserves, low cost, and compatibility with existing lithium battery equipment.

Based on these advantages, JA Solar has strategically deployed sodium-ion industrial and commercial energy storage products for the future. These products feature a wide temperature range (-30~60℃) and strong low-temperature performance, with a 28% increase in power density compared to traditional lithium battery industrial and commercial energy storage products. Their dedicated sodium-ion battery PACKs offer advantages like high power without temperature rise and lightweight design.

At the exhibition, JA Solar signed a 2GW cell supply MOU with KNACK ENERGY.

Meanwhile, JA Solar also signed a 230MW module supply MOU with REMESA, with both parties jointly contributing to Honduras’ clean energy construction and low-carbon, high-quality development in Central America.

Additionally, JA Solar signed strategic cooperation agreements with Fujian Yongfu Electric Power Design Co., Ltd., PowerChina Guizhou Engineering Corporation, and LIBRA ENERGY, respectively.
