JinkoSolar Inks Module Supply Deal with Universal Energy for Azerbaijan’s 100MW Gobustan PV Project, Setting Benchmark in Caucasus Region

JinkoSolar has officially signed a module supply agreement with Universal Energy for the 100MW Gobustan photovoltaic (PV) project in Azerbaijan. The project will exclusively utilize JinkoSolar’s independently developed N-type TOPCon technology modules, establishing it as a flagship initiative for new energy development in the Caucasus region. This collaboration underscores global recognition of JinkoSolar’s cutting-edge technology in complex environmental applications, further solidifying its technological leadership in the international PV market.

Under the harsh natural conditions of Azerbaijan’s Gobustan region, where summer temperatures can soar to 45°C, accompanied by strong winds, sandstorms, and high salt spray, JinkoSolar’s N-type TOPCon modules stand out with breakthrough technological advantages, including higher wattage output, superior all-weather power generation performance, and enhanced comprehensive power generation gains. With a bifaciality rate of up to 85%, these modules significantly improve the rear-side photoelectric conversion efficiency, contributing to an approximate 3.38% increase in overall power generation (with more pronounced gains as ground reflectivity increases). Combined with an optimized temperature coefficient of -0.29%/°C and triple anti-PID design, the modules ensure stable and efficient power output even in extreme environments. The exceptional power generation performance of N-type TOPCon modules enables the release of over 6% more clean electricity annually per unit land area, providing a reliable guarantee for the project’s high-quality implementation.

As Azerbaijan’s first internationally tendered PV project, the Gobustan power station is expected to generate 180 million kWh of electricity annually upon completion, meeting the clean energy needs of 50,000 local households and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 146,500 tons per year, thereby supporting Azerbaijan’s goal of achieving a 30% renewable energy share by 2030.
