Chinese photovoltaic glass giant Kibing Group plans to invest in the construction of a photovoltaic glass factory with an annual output of 1.5 million tons in Algeria, supporting the local new energy strategy.
Zhuzhou Kibing Group Co., Ltd. is a national high-tech enterprise established in 2005 and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange A-share market in 2011.
The company recently announced that it will invest in building its first overseas photovoltaic glass production base in Algeria—the “Algeria Solar Glass Project.”
This project is not only a significant step in Kibing Group’s internationalization strategy but will also help Algeria promote the development of renewable energy and reduce its reliance on traditional fossil fuels.
According to reports from Algeria’s official news agency, senior executives of Kibing Group met with high-level officials from the Algerian Ministry of Energy in Algiers on August 25 to detailedly introduce the project plan.
The project includes a photovoltaic glass production factory with an annual output of 1.5 million tons and a supporting processing unit capable of handling 1.08 million tons of ultra-pure silica sand per year.
The Algerian Ministry of Energy and Mines stated that the project is expected to achieve a 90% local integration rate and will directly create over 3,000 job opportunities, significantly boosting the local economy.
