LONGi and NIO Join Forces Again

On February 2, the “Integrated Photovoltaic, Storage, Charging, and Battery Swap Project — NIO Battery Swap Station | LONGi Global Distributed R&D Center in Jiaxing,” jointly developed by LONGi and the premium smart electric vehicle brand NIO, was officially inaugurated in Jiaxing, Zhejiang. Lü Yuan, Vice President of LONGi’s Distributed Business Group and President of the Product & Solution Center, and Qu Yu, President of NIO Power, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. The inaugural battery swap at this integrated photovoltaic, storage, charging, and swap station was performed by the NIO ET9, the brand’s intelligent electric executive flagship, marking the official launch of this innovative energy solution integrating “photovoltaic carports, photovoltaic fences, photovoltaic noise barriers, and the NIO photovoltaic battery swap station.”

Deeply integrating photovoltaic power generation, energy storage, charging and battery swapping, and smart energy management, the project aims to create a closed-loop ecosystem around core transportation scenarios that combines green power generation, safe electricity storage, and efficient electricity consumption. It provides a replicable and scalable benchmark model for regional low-carbon transportation.

Every Inch of Space Generating Power

The “NIO Battery Swap Station | LONGi Global Distributed R&D Center in Jiaxing” project incorporates photovoltaic canopies, photovoltaic fences, and photovoltaic noise barriers for the battery swap station and parking area, forming a three-dimensional power generation coverage combining “roofs + facades.” The generated green electricity, together with the battery swap station’s batteries, constitutes an efficient and environmentally friendly integrated energy system, significantly alleviating grid pressure and better meeting users’ charging and battery swap needs.

The three integrated photovoltaic facilities ensure a green and stable power supply, driving the site’s CO₂ emissions toward zero and enabling a low-carbon transformation of its energy supply structure.

In addition to the previously highlighted photovoltaic carports and fences, this project innovatively introduces photovoltaic noise barriers. This facility effectively combines high-efficiency photovoltaic modules with road noise reduction functions. While effectively mitigating traffic noise impact, it continuously generates clean electricity, transforming public infrastructure from a single function to dual “energy-saving + environmental protection” benefits. This provides new ideas for green upgrades in scenarios such as urban roads and highways.

In the project, the photovoltaic fence, with its all-black aesthetic appearance and “enclosing yet not isolating” hollow design, breaks the stereotype of traditional fences. Utilizing LONGi’s Hi-MO X10 series modules, it offers excellent anti-micro-crack performance and low glare characteristics. Its modular design and quick-installation structure allow the fence to fulfill its safety and zoning function while transforming into a continuously appreciating power generation asset.

The photovoltaic carport perfectly exemplifies the integration of industrial design and architectural aesthetics. Featuring patented installation technology with no exposed clamps and a double-layer waterproof and anti-falling design, it ensures safety in extreme weather while providing shade for vehicles. Its lightweight structure and flexible expandability make it widely adaptable to various parking lot scenarios, turning idle carport space into highly efficient green energy stations.

Powerful Partnership, Doubling the Green Impact

At the inauguration ceremony, the NIO ET9 completed the first battery swap service at the newly launched photovoltaic battery swap station. The station’s roof is fully covered with customized all-black Hi-MO X10 modules tailored for NIO by LONGi, equipped with industry-leading back-contact (BC) cell technology. With a module conversion efficiency of up to 24.3%, it ensures the green and efficient power supply for the battery swap network.

The successful first swap with the ET9 symbolizes the full-chain integration from green power generation to premium green mobility. It is reported that this battery swap station will be open to all new energy vehicle owners, providing efficient and convenient energy replenishment services.
