Recently, the Gezhen Access Road Covered Corridor Photovoltaic Demonstration Project, invested and constructed by Huaneng Hainan Power Generation Co., Ltd. Dongfang Power Plant, achieved full-capacity grid connection and commenced power generation. This project stands as the largest single-unit capacity and longest-mileage distributed photovoltaic project featuring covered corridors amidst wind and rain in Hainan Province.

The project utilizes the main transformer of the Gezhen Hydropower Station for grid connection. Through an innovative “photovoltaic + transportation + hydropower” model, it transforms ordinary roads into clean energy corridors, realizing the complementary integration of hydropower and solar energy resources. The project boasts a DC-side installed capacity of 18.8 MW, with an annual average on-grid electricity output of 20.584 million kWh and an annual reduction in carbon dioxide emissions of 16,500 tonnes.
The project employs LONGi’s high-efficiency BC modules on a large scale, achieving a maximum conversion efficiency of up to 24.8%. This represents an absolute efficiency gap of 1.5% over TOPCon products, with module power reaching up to 670W. Under the same land area constraints, it accommodates 6.4% more installed capacity compared to TOPCon product solutions.
