Riyadh-based energy company ACWA Power has announced that three of its large-scale solar projects have officially received commercial operation certificates, with a total installed capacity of 2.79 GW. This significant milestone marks a substantial breakthrough in Saudi Arabia’s efforts to advance its renewable energy deployment.
According to information disclosed by ACWA Power on the Saudi stock exchange platform Tadawul, the three projects were certified through their respective project companies. Among them, the first 1 GW capacity of the ArRass2 photovoltaic project, managed by Nawwar Renewable Energy Co., has commenced commercial operation. The project, with a total capacity of 2 GW, is located in the central Qassim region of Saudi Arabia.
