Nearly AUD 65 Million! Australia Invests in Two Solar Projects in July

In July, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) announced two significant funding initiatives: AUD 60 million to support the development of ultra-low-cost solar technology, and AUD 4.9 million to demonstrate automated installation technology for solar power plants, promoting broader adoption of solar energy.

On July 9, ARENA launched the first funding round, allocating AUD 60 million to advance new ultra-low-cost solar technologies. The goal is to reduce the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) for utility-scale solar power to below AUD 20 per megawatt-hour. The funding focuses on six key themes across two major areas, covering the entire supply chain of core solar equipment and supporting systems.
