Recently, the energy sector in the Philippines achieved a major breakthrough as the 4.99-megawatt floating solar power station at the Malubog Reservoir in Toledo City, Cebu, was officially connected to the grid. This marks the Philippines’ official entry into a new era of energy, taking a solid step forward in renewable energy utilization and industrial green transformation.
The project was jointly developed by Carmen Copper Corporation and the internationally renowned engineering company Black & Veatch. As the first floating solar project in the Philippines, it successfully integrates innovative renewable energy solutions seamlessly into industrial operations. Serving as the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor, Black & Veatch demonstrated exceptional expertise and efficient execution, completing the project from conception to realization in just 15 months.
