Skyworth’s Thailand Project Establishes New Model for Localized Cooperation

Recently, Skyworth has achieved a significant milestone overseas: its first officially launched commercial and industrial solar project in Thailand—the 3 MW rooftop distributed solar power station at the UMC Steel Plant in Chonburi Province—has completed all preliminary preparations, with construction now officially underway.

Located in the core industrial zone of Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor in Chonburi Province, the project provides a green power solution for the steel processing production lines of the UMC Steel Plant. With an installed capacity of 3 MW, the project is expected to generate approximately 4.422 million kWh of electricity in its first year. All the clean energy produced will be utilized for the plant’s production and operations.

The project has now entered the final implementation phase. Utilizing the established Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, Skyworth serves as the investor and general contractor, taking full responsibility for project financing, construction, operation, and maintenance. The project is planned to be transferred to the strategic investment partner, Taishan Fund, by the end of 2025.
