On February 5, 2026, Sungrow announced that it will establish its first production base in Europe in Wałbrzych, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland. This move marks a milestone moment in the company’s development in the European market. The factory covers an area of 65,400 square meters with a total investment of 230 million euros. It will help build a comprehensive European clean energy manufacturing ecosystem. The factory is planned to commence operations within the next 12 months and is expected to create 400 local jobs, fostering the development of local expertise in the renewable energy sector.
Shawn Shi, President of Sungrow Europe, stated, “This new factory is a significant milestone in Sungrow’s development in Europe. It will bring us closer to our customers, enabling a more efficient response to market demands. It is also a key pillar of Sungrow’s strategy to contribute to European supply chain stability and create high-quality employment opportunities.”
The factory will possess large-scale production capacity, with an annual output of up to 20 gigawatts of inverters and 12.5 gigawatt-hours of energy storage systems. It will integrate advanced manufacturing processes and quality assurance systems to ensure that products meet high standards in performance, reliability, and safety.
Marcin Lerner, Chairman of the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone Management Board, said, “The Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone has always been committed to creating a supportive development ecosystem for regional, national, and international enterprises. Sungrow’s investment highlights the increasingly strategic position of Poland within the European clean energy value chain. It also confirms that, thanks to favorable public support policies, stable economic growth, excellent technical universities, and a high-quality labor pool, Poland—especially Lower Silesia with its strong industrial foundation and developed high-tech sector—has become one of Europe’s most attractive locations for the industrialization of renewable energy technologies.”
In addition to strengthening local production, situating key manufacturing processes closer to customers will enable shorter delivery cycles, improved distribution efficiency, and an overall enhancement of Sungrow’s logistics service capabilities in Europe. This will drive higher efficiency and greater resilience across the entire European clean energy value chain.
Shawn Shi added, “Lower Silesia possesses profound technological expertise and a talent pool in electronics, automation, and advanced manufacturing, making it an ideal location for our new factory. We plan to tap into this excellent talent through local recruitment, fulfilling our commitment to grow together with the communities we serve.”
