Recently, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) released a tender announcement for the “Phase 3 of the Sirindhorn Dam Floating Solar Project.” Located at the Sirindhorn Dam, a critical hydraulic facility in western Thailand, the project is one of the core initiatives under EGAT’s nationwide reservoir solar plan.
According to the tender documents, the project has a planned capacity of 363.95-364 MW and will exclusively use double-glass crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules. The winning bidder will be responsible for the entire power plant construction process, including design, equipment procurement, manufacturing, supply, project management, construction and installation, system testing, commissioning, and on-site personnel training. The project scope also covers floating systems, anchoring and mooring devices, a 33-kilovolt power transmission system and associated transmission lines, as well as a comprehensive intelligent control and monitoring system. The project is fully funded by EGAT.
