Trina Solar: Targets 15-16 GWh of Energy Storage Shipments in 2026

Recently, Trina Solar (SH:688599) stated during an investor briefing that the company’s energy storage shipments exceeded 8 GWh in 2025, with overseas shipments accounting for over 60% of the total. For 2026, the company plans to ship 15–16 GWh of energy storage products and currently holds overseas orders exceeding 12 GWh. It is expected that the proportion of overseas sales will further increase in 2026. Due to the high volume of orders, the company will independently select orders in the future or purchase battery cells externally to fulfill lower-value orders.

When asked whether rising battery cell prices would impact its energy storage business, Trina Solar stated that the price increase is actually favorable for the company, as it has its own battery cell production capacity, enabling cost pass-through. By the end of 2025, the company’s battery cell capacity will increase from 16 GWh to 20 GWh, and it plans to further expand battery cell capacity to 20–25 GWh in 2026, supported by a system capacity of 40 GWh.
