Trina Solar’s ‘Modules + Smart Tracking System + Technical Services’ Solution Deployed in Complex Mountainous Power Plant in Northern Spain, Ensuring Reliable Operation and Long-term Revenue

Recently, Trina Solar, a global leader in smart energy solutions integrating solar power and energy storage, announced a collaboration with Spain’s NORSOL to commence the construction of a solar photovoltaic power plant in northern Spain. Trina Solar will provide an integrated solution encompassing photovoltaic modules, tracking mounts, and installation services. This project further demonstrates Trina Solar’s capability to deliver comprehensive smart energy solutions, ensuring stable system performance while generating long-term value for all stakeholders.

NORSOL, a leading Spanish company with nearly two decades of experience, is fully dedicated to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of photovoltaic projects. The project has a capacity of 21 MW and utilizes 495 units of Trina Solar’s Pioneer 1P smart tracking mounts, paired with 29,172 units of the Vertex N-type 700W+ series modules. Located at an altitude exceeding 800 meters with a snow load design value of up to 1,210 Pa, the project site faces complex and severe climatic conditions. To ensure highly reliable operation, the plant design innovatively incorporates three tracking mount configuration schemes, fully adapting to the complex terrain and maximizing power generation revenue. Additionally, the project includes a self-consumption photovoltaic system integrated with 11 sets of energy storage batteries. This system not only features energy sharing capabilities but also aims to extend the coverage of clean solar power to various municipal buildings in León, further advancing the adoption of regional clean energy.

In this project, Trina Solar’s scope of services extends far beyond product supply, also providing on-site installation services covering the entire process of design, engineering, construction, and commissioning for both modules and the tracking system. By integrating modules, tracking mounts, and key components into a unified system solution for delivery, Trina Solar effectively reduces project coordination complexity, mitigates multi-interface risks for EPC, significantly enhances overall project delivery efficiency, and ensures consistent quality and reliability throughout the entire process.
