Trina Storage Partners with GSC to Launch EU Energy Storage Fund, Advancing 12GWh Project Pipeline

On February 24, at the “Energy Storage Summit” held in London, Trina Storage, a globally leading provider of energy storage solutions, announced a formal strategic partnership with Gore Street Capital (GSC), a world-leading private equity investment firm focused on energy storage. Together, they will participate in a newly established private fund dedicated to Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across the 27 EU member states—the EU BESS Fund.

Trina Storage has committed to investing in the fund, standing alongside world-class financial institutions such as the European Investment Fund and the Irish Strategic Investment Fund. Leveraging its comprehensive strengths in system integration, technological innovation, and project delivery, Trina Storage will fully support the development and implementation of energy storage projects within the European market for the fund.

The two parties will deeply collaborate on project development, technology implementation, and long-term operation, aligning with the demands of the European energy storage market to accelerate the construction and commissioning of a new wave of energy storage projects. Combining secured partnerships and future investment commitments, Gore Street Capital anticipates that the fund’s total size, along with co-investment amounts, could rise to €1 billion by the end of this year.

According to the plan, the fund’s initial projects are expected to be signed by mid-year, with the first round of deliveries commencing in the fourth quarter of 2026. The fund’s overarching goal is to advance energy storage deployment across EU member states, with over 80% of its investment and operational footprint concentrated within the EU region. The total delivery scale targets exceeding 12GWh, aiming to provide more stable, flexible, and efficient regulation capabilities for regional power systems.
