UK lightweight perovskite photovoltaic technology developer Power Roll has commenced outdoor trials to evaluate the performance of its 600 mm x 400 mm solar modules. The demonstration is being conducted at the company’s headquarters in Northeast England.
“Our solar panels are currently undergoing outdoor testing with a new ink formulation, which is critical for our flexible module technology as it directly impacts printability, performance, and scalability,” said Neil Spann, CEO of Power Roll.
Spann noted that the current module size is constrained by pilot-line encapsulation equipment, but the final modules are expected to be significantly larger—ranging from 1 to 10 square meters. Once optimized, the expected power output is at least 100W per square meter, with the current demonstration panels achieving about 50% of that target.
