During the “Dushanbe Investment 2025” International Investment Forum, Tajikistan signed multiple energy cooperation agreements, with solar projects totaling 2GW as the core focus. The agreements also included the construction of wind power stations and cooperation in energy education and training. The collaboration involves companies from China, Russia, and Tajikistan, injecting strong momentum into the country’s energy security and renewable energy development.
According to reports, the cooperation documents led by Tajikistan’s Ministry of Energy and Water Resources include three protocols and two memorandums. The scope of cooperation covers key areas such as solar power plant construction and talent development in renewable energy. Among these, partnerships with Chinese companies hold significant weight: a protocol with Wuhan Building Materials Industry outlines the construction of a 500MW solar power plant in the Sughd Province, while a collaboration with EGing PV Technology Co., Ltd. focuses on deploying 500MW of solar capacity in the Khatlon Province.
A protocol signed by Tajikistan’s Ayon Energy Company indicates plans to advance solar power projects totaling 500MW in both Sughd Province and Khatlon Province, further expanding the country’s solar power infrastructure. Additionally, Tajikistan signed a memorandum of cooperation with Russia’s Rosatom Renewable Energy. In addition to planning the development of up to 500MW of solar projects, the two parties will collaborate on talent training and technical exchanges in the renewable energy sector, supporting Tajikistan in enhancing its energy industry capabilities.
