China Southern Glass to Build First Overseas Factory in Abu Dhabi

According to a news release dated October 7, 2025, on the official website of the Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KIZAD), the KEZAD Group, the largest operator of integrated and purpose-built economic zones in the KIZAD region, announced that China Southern Glass (CSG), a global leader in energy-saving glass and advanced materials, will establish its first overseas smart manufacturing facility in the UAE.

The announcement revealed that CSG will invest AED 300 million in ICAD 1, Mussafah, Abu Dhabi, creating 400 specialized and technical jobs. This initiative supports the Emirate’s goals of driving industrial growth and economic diversification.

Located on a 95,000-square-meter plot in ICAD 1, Mussafah, the project will serve as CSG’s regional headquarters for manufacturing high-performance, energy-saving glass. Upon operational launch, the facility will produce over 5 million square meters of coated, laminated, and insulated glass annually. This output will supply construction and infrastructure projects in the UAE, across other Gulf countries, and in markets including Europe, Africa, and the United States.
