On November 26 local time, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) announced it will extend the tariff exemptions, established under the Section 301 investigation concerning China’s acts, policies, and practices related to technology transfer, intellectual property, and innovation, until November 10, 2026. The existing exemptions were originally set to expire on November 29 of this year.
The list of products receiving this extension covers 178 tariff subheadings, encompassing a wide range, including:
- 164 items falling under HTSUS heading 9903.88.69 and those defined by U.S. notes 20(vvv)(i), 20(vvv)(ii), 20(vvv)(iii), and 20(vvv)(iv). These primarily include children’s products, machinery components, electronic components, medical supplies, etc.
- 14 items falling under HTSUS heading 9903.88.70 and those defined by U.S. note 20(www).
