On November 25, during the launch ceremony of the 2025 ASEAN Technology Cooperation and Development Summit, Yingli Group formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement with NCT Century and Ecorise Solar Sdn Bhd (hereinafter referred to as “EcoRise”). The three parties will fully leverage their respective comprehensive advantages in technology, resources, and local services to jointly advance the Bukit Kayu Hitam integrated solar and energy storage power plant project in Kedah, Malaysia, supporting the development of large-scale renewable energy in northern Malaysia.
According to the agreement, the three parties will jointly develop a 150-megawatt solar power plant, coupled with a 200-megawatt-hour battery energy storage system, in the Special Border Economic Zone of Durian Panjang, Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah. During this period, Yingli Group will leverage its globally leading photovoltaic products and system solutions, while EcoRise will utilize its strong local technical service capabilities to jointly undertake the project’s engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and long-term operation and maintenance. The NCT Group will be responsible for coordinating land-related matters with the Northern Gateway Group (NGX), a subsidiary of the Malaysian Ministry of Finance, and overseeing all compliance approvals. To ensure efficient project implementation and professional operation, the three parties will also establish a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) responsible for the project’s specific execution and investment operations.
