2.7GW! Korean Polysilicon Company OCI Holding’s Wafer Factory Commences Production

Recently, OCI Holding, a leading company in Korea’s polysilicon industry, announced that its subsidiary OCI ONE has officially started production at a wafer factory in Vietnam with a capacity of 2.7GW.

However, the company spokesperson noted that the factory is currently in the initial phase of ramping up production. Although production has begun, it has not yet entered the shipment or delivery stage. The factory’s operations are gradually stabilizing, and it is expected to achieve full-scale production targets in the near future.

It is worth noting that this factory was acquired by OCI through its subsidiary OCI ONE from the Chinese photovoltaic company BoDa New Energy in October 2025. Through this transaction, OCI ONE obtained a 65% equity stake in the wafer factory.

Reportedly, the total investment in the factory amounts to $120 million (approximately 857 million RMB), with OCI Holding’s equity share corresponding to an investment of $78 million.
