JA Solar provides all modules for first solar PV station in Uzbekistan

Chinese solar PV module manufacturer JA Solar recently has completed the supply of the modules used for the first solar PV station in Uzbekistan, with the total scale of 138 MW.

The project covers an area of 267 hectares, with 298,928 high-efficiency photovoltaic modules installed. It is expected to generate 278 million KWh of power per year and reduce 200,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

The project is the first independent power producer (IPP) photovoltaic project successfully financed, which integrates the opening of the country’s new energy strategy, people’s livelihood and economic development.


Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan spoke highly of the project as it is the first step taken by Uzbekistan’s new energy system, marking a new stage of industry development.

He also pointed out that the success of the project continues to strengthen the country’s confidence in vigorously developing new energy such as photovoltaic and wind power, and plays an epoch-making role in promoting the country’s new energy strategy.


The project was also presented as a congratulatory gift to the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence on September 1.
