Head of China’s National Energy Administration Attends G20 Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting in South Africa

On October 10, the G20 Energy Transitions Ministerial Meeting was held in South Africa. Wan Jinsong, Vice Minister of the National Energy Administration, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

China pointed out that in recent years, it has vigorously promoted the development of clean energy, contributing more than half of the world’s new renewable energy capacity. China has cooperated with over 100 countries and regions in green energy, driving the global expansion of industrial scale and technological innovation, while significantly reducing the cost of the global energy transition. China is a key contributor to “technological inclusivity.”

The meeting adopted the Voluntary Action Plan on Infrastructure Investment for Accelerating Clean Cooking Solutions. However, no consensus was reached on the Ministerial Communiqué and other technical outcome documents.

During the meeting, the Chinese delegation engaged in exchanges with member states and guest countries, including South Africa, the European Union, Russia, France, Indonesia, and Singapore, as well as with heads of international organizations such as the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
