A consortium comprising Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), Korea Midland Power Company (KOMIPO), and Oman’s Al Khadra Partners has recently won the international bid for a 500MW solar independent power project (IPP) in Oman.
The Ibri III IPP project, valued at 155 million Omani rials, is the fourth large-scale solar project in Oman. Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (Nama PWP) will sign a power purchase agreement with the consortium, with the project scheduled to commence commercial operations in the first quarter of 2027.
In June 2024, the Ibri III solar project announced its pre-qualification results, with nine developers from South Korea, France, and China having passed the pre-qualification stage.
