Sungrow Unveils Three Major Photovoltaic and Energy Storage New Products at SNEC

On June 11, Sungrow showcased nearly 30 new energy exhibits at the 2025 SNEC Photovoltaic Exhibition, covering three major sectors: energy bases, zero-carbon industrial parks, and zero-carbon households. Through AI innovation, active safety, and all-system grid-forming, Sungrow continues to drive the construction of a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient modern smart energy system.

For large-scale photovoltaic power plants, Sungrow launched two new inverter products—the world’s first 400kW+ string inverter SG465HX and the world’s first split-type modular inverter 1+X 2.0, creating a 5A integrated system solution featuring “all-weather economy, all-scenario reliability, all-link safety, all-cycle intelligent maintenance, and all-network condition grid-forming.” For large-scale energy storage power plants, Sungrow’s PowerTitan3.0 intelligent energy storage platform made its first public appearance. Additionally, the “Sungrow AI-Powered DC-Side Full-Scope Safety Solution White Paper” and the “Sungrow Stem-Cell Grid-Forming Tech 2.0 White Paper” were released on-site.

Adopts next-generation high-voltage SiC devices, third-generation heat dissipation technology, and high-frequency magnetic materials, achieving significant efficiency optimization and loss reduction, improving system efficiency by 0.2%, and generating an additional 90 million kWh of electricity over the full lifecycle of a GW power plant.

Increases AC/DC voltage, with a 465kW single-unit power and a 5MW+ large sub-array design, significantly reducing cable usage and medium-voltage equipment investment, and further lowering LCOE by 1.5%.

Equipped with multiple DC-side protection patent technologies, mechanical and electronic switches enable millisecond-level shutdown, unafraid of string overcurrent; intelligent fault locking function prevents fault propagation caused by human operations; and achieves full-operating-condition lightning protection coverage for the first time in the industry, overcoming lightning protection challenges during the unpowered phase.

Supports voltage source MPPT mode to ensure reliable power generation under extremely weak grids; millisecond-level inertia and reactive power response to achieve active frequency and voltage support; suppresses grid oscillations through damping control; enables intelligent network condition perception and seamless switching between tracking and grid-forming modes; and supports black-start self-synchronization networking to comprehensively safeguard grid safety.

World’s First Split-Type Modular Inverter

Combines the dual advantages of centralized and string inverters. The 1+X 2.0 further refines module granularity, with a single-unit power of 800kW and a maximum support of 12 units in parallel up to 9.6MW, flexibly matching different sub-arrays.

Features a split-chamber design, with key components placed in the upper chamber for plug-and-play functionality. Combined with AI self-diagnosis technology, it enables rapid replacement within 1 hour without professional personnel or dedicated equipment, reducing power generation losses by 97% compared to traditional centralized inverters. IP66 protection ensures resistance to sandstorms and rain, eliminating daily maintenance and improving online rates.

First-in-industry patent fuse protection solves low-multiple current interruption challenges, achieving source safety; intelligent junction boxes recognize arcing within 40 milliseconds and shut down, linking inverter group control protection; and is equipped with intelligent terminal over-temperature protection technology to build a full-chain DC-side active safety system.

Through large sub-array design, long string connection, and MPLC communication, saves investment by 29 million yuan for a GW power plant; equipped with nighttime medium-voltage intelligent shutdown technology, saves electricity by 74 million kWh over the full lifecycle. Additionally, it is natively compatible with DC coupling, enabling flexible expansion as needed, reducing initial investment by over 10%, and improving system conversion efficiency by 5%.

Microsecond-level grid condition perception, SCR1~40 instantaneous jump adaptation, supports 1.8Un transient overvoltage tolerance, ensuring reliable power generation under all network conditions; supports self-built grids to solve power supply challenges during station construction and commissioning stages, enabling GW projects to be connected to the grid 30 days earlier, generating an additional 21 million yuan in revenue; and GW-level black-start capabilities to assist in grid restoration.

New Generation AC Intelligent Energy Storage Platform Unveiled

Sungrow’s PowerTitan3.0 intelligent energy storage platform includes three versions: Flex, Class, and Plus. Among them, the Plus version has a 30-foot single-cabinet capacity of 12.5MWh, the largest globally, with an energy density of over 500kWh/㎡, the highest globally. Excluding PCS, its DC-side energy density has reached 570kWh/㎡, saving 45% of land for GWh stations and significantly reducing investment costs.

3.0 inherits the advantages of AC storage, reducing conversion levels through AC-DC integration, continuing designs such as “one cluster, one PCS” and “DC not leaving the cabinet,” ensuring safety and efficiency while increasing capacity; and is the first to apply 684Ah laminated large cells and silicon carbide PCS on a large scale, pioneering thermoelectric separation, achieving cell energy efficiency of 96.5% and PCS maximum efficiency of 99.3%, ultimately achieving a system comprehensive RTE breakthrough to 93.5%. In terms of intelligence, 3.0 is equipped with the Lingxi Delivery Platform, PowerBidder Electricity Trading Auxiliary Decision Platform, and PowerDoctor Intelligent Operation and Maintenance Platform, providing a full-lifecycle smart experience from station construction, delivery, operation, to trading through a full-stack intelligent system matrix. Additionally, Sungrow’s “native” intelligence from cells to stations enables AI everywhere in energy storage. 3.0 is also equipped with the new Stem Cell Grid Technology.

Focusing on the safety challenges of the photovoltaic DC side, Sungrow, in collaboration with CGC, released the “Sungrow AI-Powered DC-Side Full-Scope Safety Solution White Paper,” with the “PDC” three-stage defense model as its core, driving power plants from passive defense to active safety.

In response to the rapidly growing demand for grid-forming, Sungrow, in collaboration with TÜV Rheinland, released the “Sungrow Stem-Cell Grid-Forming Tech 2.0 White Paper,” pioneering a “battery-inverter-station” three-level collaborative architecture to support the smooth operation of the new power system.
