Huaneng Shaanxi Jingyang 20MW/40MWh Energy Storage Project Successfully Connected to the Grid

on April 3, 2026, the supporting 20MW/40MWh energy storage system project of Huaneng Jingyang 200MW photovoltaic + ecological management power generation project built by Shaanxi ‘an mining company was successfully connected to the grid and put into operation. as the first energy storage project built by the company, the system not only filled the blank of the company’s engineering construction in the energy storage field, but also marked the company’s new breakthrough in the comprehensive utilization of new energy, formally entered a new stage of “photovoltaic + ecological + energy storage” collaborative development. The grid-connected operation effectively strengthens the power regulation capacity of the project and provides hard core support for efficient energy consumption and stable operation.

the energy storage project is located in shandi he village, jingyang county kou town, Xianyang city, Shaanxi province, relying on the existing infrastructure of Qinghua photovoltaic power station, the innovative use of liquid-cooled battery container technology and string energy storage structure, the perfect realization of energy storage and photovoltaic power generation collaborative operation.

after the project is put into operation, stable charging and discharging cycle operation will be realized. it is expected that the power abandonment rate of Qinghua photovoltaic power station will be greatly reduced from the current 10.4 to 5.6, effectively solving the problem of new energy consumption, significantly improving the acceptance capacity of regional power grids for photovoltaic and other new energy power, and greatly reducing the impact of fluctuation of photovoltaic power generation on the safe and stable operation of power grids. At the same time, the energy storage system can further optimize the operation scheduling of the station, improve the overall operation efficiency and safety and stability of the station, and provide a more reliable green power supply for the local area by storing surplus photovoltaic energy and smoothing power fluctuations in real time.
