380MW/760MWh! The Northwest Institute of China Energy Construction CLP Engineering won the bid for the EPC General Contract Project of Hongshagang South 2 Boost (Energy Storage) Station in Minqin County, Tengger Desert, Gansu Province.

as a key project of shaghuang large base supporting the UHV DC transmission project of “Gansu electricity into Zhejiang, the project plans to build a 330 kV booster station, equipped with three 50-megawatt cameras, and simultaneously supporting the construction of an energy storage system with a total scale of 380 MW/760 MW, innovating and integrating a variety of new energy storage technologies, it is equipped with 5 MW/10 MW zinc bromine liquid flow energy storage system, 5 MW/10 MW water system organic liquid flow energy storage system, 100 MW/200 MW flexible low-pressure cascade energy storage system, and the remaining 270 MW/540 MW is conventional centralized energy storage system.

After the project is completed and put into operation, it will significantly improve the power transmission capacity and grid adjustment flexibility of the Tengger Desert Hexi New Energy Base, effectively solve the problems of volatility and intermittency of new energy power generation, and provide stable and reliable clean power for the UHV channel of “Gansu Electricity into Zhejiang”, help large-scale development and efficient consumption of new energy resources in Gansu Province, and promote the optimization and upgrading of regional energy structure, it will inject strong impetus into the realization of the national “double carbon” goal and the construction of new power system.
