Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) has officially launched a wholly-owned subsidiary in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region with a registered capital of RMB 7 million yuan. The new entity’s operations span key sectors including emerging energy technology R&D, AI-driven software development, sales of battery-swapping infrastructure for electric vehicles (EVs), and energy storage technical services.
It is fully controlled by CATL, reflecting the parent company’s tight grip on emerging business ventures. While the initial capital injection appears modest, it aligns with CATL’s investment pattern of deploying subsidiaries for specialized R&D or regional market penetration, with potential for future capital increases. This year alone, CATL has established multiple subsidiaries in Sichuan, Guangdong, and other provinces, targeting niche sectors such as battery recycling and energy storage systems. The Ningxia subsidiary further expands CATL’s nationwide business footprint.
