CSI Solar Releases Interim Report: Aims for 33% Efficiency in Perovskite Tandem Cells by 2025

Recently, CSI Solar released its interim report for the first half of 2025. In the first six months, the company reported revenue of RMB 21.052 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 4.13%, and a net profit attributable to shareholders of RMB 731 million, down 41.01% compared to the same period last year. CSI Solar expects its core business, photovoltaic module shipments, to reach 25-27 GW for the full year.

In the photovoltaic module segment, during the reporting period, CSI Solar focused on the research, development, and industrialization of core module technologies, achieving continuous breakthroughs in mainstream technologies such as TOPCon, HJT, and BC, while steadily advancing its perovskite tandem technology roadmap. The mass production efficiency of TOPCon cells reached 26.9%, and the upcoming TOPCon 2.0 production in the second half of the year will fully incorporate 0BB technology. BC technology development is targeted at applications such as rooftop and high-end residential markets, with a focus on Europe, Japan, and Australia. Perovskite tandem technology, as a long-term strategic initiative, is being advanced in collaboration with multiple institutions, with a target efficiency of 33% by 2025.
