U.S. Microinverter Leader Enphase Energy Surpasses 6.5 Million IQ Series Shipments

U.S.-based solar microinverter manufacturer Enphase Energy, Inc. announced recently that its contract manufacturing facilities in the United States have cumulatively shipped over 6.5 million IQ series microinverters and 50 megawatt-hours (MWh) of IQ Battery energy storage systems.

Notably, approximately 1 million of these microinverters incorporate an elevated proportion of U.S.-sourced components, aligning with stricter eligibility criteria for the Domestic Content Bonus Credit (DCBC) under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). The DCBC incentivizes projects using products with higher domestic manufacturing content by offering enhanced tax credits.

Ken Fong, Senior Vice President and General Manager for the Americas and Asia-Pacific at Enphase Energy, stated: “Today, roughly 80% of our microinverter shipments originate from U.S. manufacturing facilities. These milestones underscore our commitment to strengthening America’s energy sovereignty and leadership in the clean energy transition.”

The company previously disclosed that while U.S. tariffs on imported solar components have had limited impact on its microinverter business—due to its localized production strategy—they could affect pricing dynamics for its battery storage line, which relies more heavily on global supply chains.
