Tongwei Solar Highlights N-Type Transition, TNC 2.0 Roadmap, and Technology Evaluation Strategy for Photovoltaic Innovation

Tongwei Solar, a leading player in the photovoltaic industry, stated during an investor briefing that the sector is currently at a pivotal stage of N-type technology acceleration and diversification. TOPCon, the most commercially mature product in the current market, has demonstrated its cost-performance advantages, with significant potential for further efficiency gains. The company outlined its roadmap for TNC 2.0 technology this year, aiming to elevate the mainstream power output of TNC modules by over 25W through integrated cell and module technologies, including TPE edge passivation, steel mesh printing, rear polysilicon gates, “908” process optimizations, and full-screen module designs.

Tongwei Solar emphasized that its mass production planning for emerging technologies such as HJT, XBC, and perovskite tandem cells remains grounded in market feasibility and economic assessments. By 2025, the company will prioritize balancing LCOE and full-lifecycle reliability through dynamic evaluations of HJT and XBC technologies on pilot production lines. It will also continuously assess mass production feasibility based on market acceptance in high-premium domestic and international segments.

The company reiterated its strategic approach of “maintaining a half-step lead in R&D while aligning mass production with market demands,” ensuring that technological investments and strategic positioning are closely synchronized. This strategy aims to enhance Tongwei Solar’s industrial resilience amid rapid technological shifts, the company concluded.
