Recently, LONGi, a global leader in PV innovation, has partnered with European renewable energy heavyweight Cero Generation to jointly develop the UK’s first back-contact (BC) ground-mounted solar project.
As the exclusive module supplier, LONGi will provide Cero Generation’s flagship Bramley project with 59MW of Hi-MO 9 modules featuring HPBC 2.0 technology. The project, adopting a co-located “PV + storage” model, is scheduled to commence construction in autumn 2025.
Marking the UK’s first BC technology-based ground-mounted solar plant, the project will set a new commercial benchmark for large-scale PV development and module selection in the country. It is poised to propel BC technology as a key driver in achieving the UK’s net-zero targets.
