425MW! PowerChina’s Photovoltaic Power Plant in Brazil Begins Operation

Since September 4 local time, the Maracanaú photovoltaic power plant project, invested in and constructed by PowerChina International, has successively obtained commercial operation certificates.

This project is the first large-scale photovoltaic power plant invested in and constructed by PowerChina in Latin America, as well as the first overseas-controlled new energy investment project of PowerChina International. It represents a significant breakthrough in the company’s overseas new energy investment sector and was implemented using innovative models.

The Maracanaú photovoltaic project is located in Maracanaú, Ceará, in northeastern Brazil, with a total installed capacity of 425.68MWp/343.77MWac. It was invested in and developed by a subsidiary established by PowerChina International in Brazil. The construction includes nine photovoltaic field areas, a 230-kilovolt step-up substation, and supporting infrastructure such as transmission lines.
