Blue Ridge Power Suddenly Lays Off 500+ Employees

In September 2025, Blue Ridge Power, a photovoltaic EPC company headquartered in North Carolina, USA, announced a large-scale layoff plan. The layoffs will affect 517 employees, including 348 workers in Cumberland County and 169 in Buncombe County, and are scheduled to be completed by November 18, 2025.

Established in 2021, Blue Ridge Power is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pine Gate Renewables, a U.S. utility-scale solar developer. The company primarily engages in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for solar and energy storage projects, having built 8GW of solar projects across the United States to date.
