Recently, Hannover-based company Marcley GmbH announced a partnership with Solarize Energy Solutions GmbH to jointly promote local solar energy supply models for multi-tenant residential buildings (Gemeinschaftliche Gebäudeversorgung, GGV).
Marcley is one of the earliest companies in Germany to explore the GGV model. As early as the end of 2024, they launched their first project, enabling multiple households in the same building to share electricity generated from rooftop solar panels.
To date, Marcley has implemented approximately 30 projects across Germany, covering 90 residential buildings and connecting over 1,100 electricity meters, gradually forming a community-level energy-sharing network.
In the advancement of community solar projects, electricity metering and settlement often present technical and administrative challenges. In this collaboration, Marcley has chosen to adopt Solarize’s cloud-based settlement platform to achieve end-to-end automation—from meter reading and billing to payment collection. The system can collect electricity data in real-time, automatically generate bills, manage allocation and settlement, significantly reducing operational complexity.
