Xinhua Silk Road: East China city witnesses smooth trial of large dual-fuel ship

Beijing, March 24, 2026/PRNewswire/ -Recently, a dual-fuel power vehicle carrier “H580 ECO STAR” capable of carrying 7000 vehicles ended its four-day trial voyage at a shipyard base terminal in Longkou City, eastern China, and berthed smoothly. The ship was built by Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CIMC Raffles Group). During the trial voyage, the durability, speed, anchoring and UAV cabin of its main engine were fully tested. According to Jin Fujun, head of the Longkou CIMC Raffles H580 project, the trial successfully reached the scheduled test target of the large automobile carrier. The ship, with a total length of 199.9 meters and a width of 38 meters, is the third ship of its kind built by CIMC Raffles Group for Atlas Maritime Company of Greece, with a design speed of 19 knots. In addition, the ship is equipped with a special fire protection system, not only can achieve zero carbon emissions in the port, its ability to meet DNV ammonia fuel readiness and F(EV) related standards also meets the requirements of green shipping. As a landmark achievement of the “Longkou Building” ship, the “H580 ECO STAR” is expected to contribute to the development of global low-carbon and green shipping.
