On March 30, the 200MW/400MWh energy storage project in Hengan Xuwen, Zhanjiang City, which was constructed by Hongye Group, was officially started, marking the Group’s “zero breakthrough” in the field of energy storage and power construction “. The project is constructed by Guangdong Zhongheng Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Zhongheng Company”) under the Group. Lin Wei, deputy secretary of the party committee, director and general manager of Zhongheng Company, and relevant persons in charge attended the groundbreaking ceremony to witness this important moment.
The project plans to build a 200MW/400MWh independent battery energy storage station, mainly to build energy storage equipment, booster stations, 220kV transmission lines and other supporting facilities. After the energy storage equipment is boosted to 220kV voltage level, it will be connected to 220kV side of 220kV Wentao substation through one circuit of 220kV transmission line, and successfully connected to 220kV power grid. The project adopts advanced electrochemical energy storage technology, has millisecond response speed and four-quadrant operation capability, and realizes flexible adjustment of active and reactive power. It is not only an important practice to serve the national “double carbon” strategy and build a new power system, but also a key measure to alleviate the medium-and long-term contradiction between power supply and demand in Zhanjiang Xuwen and Leizhou and to enhance the regional energy security capability.

Subsequently, the leaders of the meeting jointly shovel soil, completed the groundbreaking ceremony, fully opened the project construction prelude.
After the project is completed and put into operation, it will play a key role in new energy consumption, peak supply protection, power grid burden reduction, emergency response, system stability, etc, further optimize the power supply structure in Zhanjiang Xuwen and Leizhou.
