The project officially started on October 25, 2025, covering an area of 9.46 hectares. It consists of 30 grid-type energy storage units and 56 grid-type energy storage units. 86 sets of converter and booster integrated machines and 344 sets of lithium iron phosphate battery cabins operate in coordination. It is estimated that the annual online power consumption after grid connection can reach 0.44 billion kilowatt-hours, which can meet the electricity demand of 147000 ordinary households for one year. “Energy storage projects are just like the’ regulator’ and’ reserve’ of the power grid. When electricity consumption is at low ebb, energy storage’ is charged, and when electricity consumption is at high ebb, energy supply is guaranteed. It can also effectively stabilize the fluctuation of new energy output such as photovoltaic and solve the problem of green electricity consumption.” The project leader introduced.
as the first 100-megawatt hybrid energy storage benchmarking project in southern Xinjiang, the project relies on intelligent control technology and innovates and forms energy storage construction and operation experience that can be replicated and popularized in the “shago desert” area. it can provide various supports such as millisecond frequency modulation, hour peak modulation, accident backup, etc. for the southern Xinjiang power grid, and effectively improve the new energy consumption and power grid regulation capabilities, help optimize Xinjiang’s energy structure and inject strong green momentum into the high-quality development of the regional economy and society.
