on April 8, Yunnan Yongping shared energy storage project realized all stations are electrically connected to the grid. This project is the first grid-type energy storage power station in Yongping County, and it is also a key demonstration project with peak regulation and frequency regulation capabilities in Yunnan Province.

The project is located in Bonan Town, Yongping County, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, with an installed capacity of 200 MW/400 MW. It is equipped with a 220 kV booster station, a new 220 kV transmission line of 0.8km, and a lithium iron phosphate battery energy storage system. A total of 80 5 MW energy storage units are used. The energy storage batteries are boosted to 35 kV locally after 40 5 MW booster converter units, connect the 35kV bus side of the newly-built 220 kV booster station with 8 circuits of 35kV collector lines.

During the construction period, the project team strictly controls the construction quality of each link, completes the key processes such as site leveling, foundation pouring, equipment installation and commissioning in an orderly manner, and strictly adheres to the bottom line of safety and quality. During the commissioning and acceptance phase, the team refined the single commissioning and sub-system commissioning, accurately optimized the equipment parameters, and completely eliminated the technical hidden dangers. On the eve of grid connection, the project department deployed in advance to carry out full coverage of hidden dangers for booster stations and energy storage equipment, and operated in accordance with the power grid dispatching instructions. On April 4, the project successfully completed the impact closing test of the booster station. On April 8, the whole station was electrified and connected to the grid, and all operation indexes met the standard requirements.

it is reported that after the project is put into operation, 460 megawatts of photovoltaic new energy can be added, significantly improving the regional new energy consumption capacity and delivery guarantee, effectively filling the gap in the large-scale application of network-type energy storage in Yongping county, and strengthening the short board of regional new power system construction. The practice of high-standard construction, high-efficiency production and high-safety operation and maintenance of the project has set a high-quality benchmark that can be replicated and popularized for energy storage on the power grid side of the province.
