Risen Energy’s HJT modules to power high-altitude solar project

Risen Energy revealed that it will supply 22 MW of Hyperion modules for the 700 MW solar PV project in China’s Qinghai province, an area known for its high altitude and intense UV radiation.

This marks the first extensive use of HJT modules in a high-altitude environment, a major step for the technology.

The project, located in the Qinghai Hainan Prefecture’s multi-gigawatt renewable energy base, is characterized by its high-altitude, desertified grassland, which presents challenges such as intense UV radiation and large temperature variations. These conditions demand higher long-term operational reliability from the PV modules.

Hyperion HJT modules have undergone rigorous testing by TÜV, showing they can handle tough environments and maintain over 90% power retention over a 30-year warranty period.

Risen Energy, a top ten global PV manufacturer, has been developing HJT technology for years. The Hyperion modules have been shipped to nearly 50 countries, with a total shipment volume exceeding 4GW, said the company.
