“the project is invested and constructed by the municipal energy development group, with an installed capacity of 100MW/200MWh. it is the first large-scale grid-type energy storage project in Jilin province and a key demonstration project in 2024. The project has a total investment of 0.186 billion yuan and covers an area of 23000 square meters. It is planned to build a 100MW/200MWh grid-type energy storage system (including 20 energy storage units), with a 120 MVA main transformer, and connect to Longfeng 500 kV substation through a 220 kV dedicated line. It is a key support project for our province to build a new power system and promote green and low-carbon transformation.” Chen Hongbai, the person in charge of the project, said, “with the strong support of the party committees and governments at the city and county levels, the project started construction on September 6, 2025, stopped work in winter in November, and resumed work on March 5 this year. At present, the main structure has been completed, the main equipment has been installed on the site, is expected to achieve full capacity on May 30. The core advantage of the project is the use of advanced network-type technology, and the core equipment is selected from the national first-line brands, such as Ningde era battery core, sunshine power PCS, etc.”
According to Chen Hongbai, the advanced nature of the project is mainly reflected in two aspects: core technology and system integration. In terms of core technology, the grid-type converter has the characteristics of voltage source, does not rely on the grid to independently establish voltage, and can provide inertia support, fast frequency modulation, black start and other key functions. It can run continuously for 1 minute at 150 rated current and 10 seconds at 300 rated current, thus effectively enhancing the stability of weak grid. In the system integration, the DC side optimizes the selection of components, improves the overload support capacity, the AC side is equipped with a dedicated energy storage converter to meet the requirements of overload conditions, and the control strategy can realize seamless switching with the network or network mode, thus ensuring the safe and stable operation of the system in all directions.
