Recently, a good news came from the first line of the construction of Zhejiang Tiantai Pumped Storage Power Station, a key project of the country’s “14th Five-Year Plan”: Unit 3 of the power station successfully started and completed its first rush, and successfully increased its speed to the rated speed at one time. It marks a key step for my country’s pumped storage power station with the largest single unit capacity to be fully put into operation in the middle of the year.
as the “super charging treasure” of east China power grid, the Tiantai pumped storage power station has a total installed capacity of 1.7 million kilowatts and four 425000-kilowatt reversible hydro-generator units are installed, ranking first among similar projects in China.
At present, units 1 and 2 of the power station have been successfully put into operation for power generation, and units 3 and 4 are promoting installation and commissioning. The power station building is facing the cross operation of “power generation, installation and commissioning. In the face of challenges, the project team strictly adhered to the safety red line and built a solid physical and system “firewall” for the operation of the unit and commissioning equipment “. Unit 3 after precision adjustment, successfully completed the grid before the rigorous test, the core parameters are excellent, for the subsequent formal grid-connected power generation to lay a solid foundation.

It is understood that Unit 3 will complete the main transformer impact test in early April, start grid connection commissioning, and strive to have the conditions for formal production of power generation by the end of April; as the closing work, Unit 4 will be launched for the first time in late May.
It is expected that by the middle of this year, the power station will achieve full capacity production of 4 units. At that time, it will serve as a “stabilizer” and “regulator” for the safe and stable supply of energy in the Yangtze River Delta region, and contribute to the construction of my country’s new power system.
