Recently, the first (set) of major technical equipment in the national energy field, the simulation witness test of the core control equipment of the 300MW variable speed pumped storage unit of Guangdong Zhaoqing Langjiang Pumped Storage Power Station was successfully held in Nanrui Jibao. The AC excitation equipment, cooperative controller, monitoring system and governor of the core control system of the transmission unit were verified on the real-time digital simulator (RTDS) test platform of Nanrui Jibao, the main results of the simulation tests are reviewed.

This RTDS simulation platform is based on the hydraulic structure modeling of Zhaoqing project “one pipe and four machines, it is the first simulation system covering all professional mechanical and electrical equipment and” water-machine-electricity-network “multi-physical field coupling in the country. It consists of subsystems such as unit monitoring, protection, SFC, excitation, AC excitation of variable speed unit and cooperative controller. On the basis of completing 130 ex-factory acceptance tests of core control equipment of Zhaoqing variable speed unit in the early stage, this witness meeting focused on starting, running and stopping under power generation at the maximum head. Pumping start, operation and shutdown under minimum lift; Active power addition and subtraction adjustment rate under power generation/pumping conditions, primary frequency modulation and inertia support functions under pumping conditions; Control mode switching under power generation and pump conditions; the effects of load rejection on the operation of the variable speed unit and the effect of load rejection on the fixed speed unit are tested.
the witness group agreed that the test results meet the control and protection design function requirements of the core control equipment cooperative controller and AC excitation control system of Zhaoqing 300MW variable speed pumped storage unit, and are better than the scheme requirements in terms of power regulation rate under power generation/pumping conditions, primary frequency modulation response under power generation conditions, inertia support and other indicators.
This witness has laid a solid foundation for the delivery of the core control equipment of the transmission unit and the smooth operation of Zhaoqing transmission unit, and also provided strong support for on-site commissioning and operation and maintenance.
