The NEOM project aims to produce up to 600 tons of carbon-free hydrogen per day and plans to integrate 4 GW of solar and wind energy by 2026.

As part of the agreement, Sungrow will provide inverters for a 2.2 GWac single-site PV project, which will have a DC capacity of 2.97 GWdc. Once completed, this project will become the world’s largest single-site solar power plant, powering the NEOM green hydrogen initiative.

This collaboration builds upon the partnership between Sungrow and L&T established last year when they collaborated on implementing a 600 MWh energy storage system for NEOM.

This new agreement demonstrates the commitment of both companies to supporting Saudi Arabia’s vision for a sustainable future and expediting the local energy transition.

NEOM, located in the northwest region of Saudi Arabia, is envisioned as an AI-powered city and is expected to reach initial completion by 2040.

The project aims to reduce its reliance on oil by developing the world’s largest green hydrogen project, utilizing clean energy sources like solar power for green hydrogen production.

Sungrow has been actively involved in the development of the NEOM project, providing integrated solutions such as the PowerTitan liquid-cooled energy storage system and the “1+X” modular inverter. By combining these technologies, the power plant will be capable of continuously supplying clean electricity to stabilize the grid.

Wu Jiamao, Senior Vice President of Sungrow, expressed gratitude for L&T’s trust and reaffirmed Sungrow’s dedication to the NEOM project. Wu stated that the company’s professional team and industry-leading products and solutions would ensure high returns for customers throughout the project’s lifecycle.

This strategic partnership between Sungrow and L&T brings together their expertise in PV systems and EPC services, forming a robust alliance to deliver reliable and efficient solar energy solutions for the NEOM project.
