Solar wafer maker Tianjin Zhonghuan Semiconductor Co., Ltd. released the capital increment announcement on January 12 to increase the annual capacity of G12 wafer to 30 GW.
The decision will be implemented by the company’s holding subsidiary Wuxi Zhonghuan Applied Materials Co., Ltd. (Wuxi Zhonghuan) as the main body, to be in charge of the project of Yixing phase IV smart factory project, with an annual output of 30 GW high-purity solar ultra-thin silicon materials.
In order to meet the capital needs of the project and ensure the smooth implementation, Tianjin Zhonghuan Huanou Semiconductor Material Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, will increase the capital by RMB 1.250 billion yuan to Wuxi Zhonghuan.
After this investment, the planned production capacity of G12 silicon wafer will exceed 105 GW (including over 50 GW in Tianjin, over 25 GW in Inner Mongolia and over 30 GW in Jiangsu), which is conducive to alleviating the industry’s shortage of high-quality production capacity, promoting the continuous reduction of levelized cost of electricity and the optimization of BOS cost, and realizing the comprehensive grid parity all over the world.
